G.S. Nyas was established on 30th January 2002 by Late Mr. Waman Ganesh Naware. Govindanand Saraswati is the name of a divine sanyasi born in Naware family, about 250 years ago.

After completing his family responsibilities he opted for sanyas. Mr. Waman Ganesh Naware deeply believed, that his blessings are responsible for wellbeing of Naware family members.

Due to his sanyasa state, after his death, his body was not cremated (as per Hindu tradition) but was burried in the adjacent premises of land. This place is called Samadhi place. A very small structure was built soon after his burial, 250 years ago.

Time flew, generations of Naware family, one after other flourished and expanded. But this Samadhi was never forgotten. It was worshiped & taken care of everyday by family members. The auspicious day of his Samadhi, according to Hindu calendar is Kartik Shuklapanchami, which is celebrated with enthusiasm.

In course of years the small structure of Samadhi was a matter of concern in the minds of Mr. Waman G. Naware. He made a plan, to re-construct the Samadhi. He found a trust in the name of Shri Govindanand Saraswati in 2002. The construction was completed in November 2002.

In 2008 one new & divine activity was started by Mr. Waman G. Naware on behalf of G .S. Nyas i.e. Shrimad Bhagvat Geeta Recitation. The individuals having intense desire and readiness for recitation study were taught by him. This recitation training was conducted at various schools in Dombivli. It was conducted at Shree Ganesh Mandir at Dombivli. Slowly it gained enthusiastic response.

Mr. Naware took his 1st batch of students to Sharadapeetham, Sringeri for examination. Many scholars were successful hence received prizes and certificates. These students wished to start teaching Shrimad Bhagvad Geeta at various places in Dombivli, Dadar & Kalyan. Slowly the number of Geetavargas increased so was Geetavratis.
